For the second year in a row, GoDaddy.com will be the presenting sponsor for the
Indianapolis 500 television broadcast on ABC. The sponsorship deepens the
Web hosting and domain name provider’s relationship with auto racing fans. As
part of the deal, GoDaddy.com will have its iconic branding on everything from
broadcast segments to aerial and in-car views. This year’s Indy 500 is
shaping up to be a tremendous showdown with ‘Go Daddy Girl’ Danica Patrick on
the track and in contention. Analysts have listed her as one to watch and the
media have been on a coverage-frenzy since Danica’s historic IndyCar win last
month, a first-ever for a woman. “I feel very confident at Indy,” Danica
said. “I’m especially proud Go Daddy is back again to sponsor the Indy 500
broadcast. They’re a company that knows how to do things right and Bob Parsons
has been a tremendous supporter from the start.” Parsons is the CEO and
Founder of GoDaddy.com and says his decision to sponsor the broadcast was an
easy one. “When you think of IndyCar racing, the first race that comes to mind
is the Indianapolis 500,” Parsons said. “They don’t call it the Greatest
Spectacle in Racing for nothing!” When it comes to domain names, Go Daddy
is the one company that comes to most people’s minds. Go Daddy has grown at a
speedy clip too. Since last year’s Indy 500 sponsorship, they’ve added more than
one million customers and the number of domain names it manages skyrocketed
nearly 50 percent. Go Daddy now registers, renews or transfers a Web site
address every second of every day. Go Daddy grew to nearly three times
the size of its closest competitor by providing fast, friendly service, as well
as low prices and reliable products. Danica became a Go Daddy Girl in 2006 and
has appeared in two of the company’s Super Bowl commercials. She’s ranked as one
of the 100 Sexiest Women in the world – twice. This makes her a match for Go
Daddy’s approach to business. “She’s a consummate professional. She’s not
afraid to take risks. She’s edgy and she’s powered by determination and passion
– all qualities we respect and employ at Go Daddy,” Parsons said. Danica
stormed onto the racing scene in 2005 when she led the Indy 500 for 19 laps and
finished fourth. She earned Rookie of the Year honors and is now the league’s
most popular driver. Safe to say, millions of viewers will be cheering for
Danica in her GoDaddy.com sponsored car again this year. You can watch
“The Indianapolis 500 broadcast presented by GoDaddy.com” Sunday, May 25. Live
coverage begins at Noon (EDT) on ABC TV. Go Daddy will also be the presenting
sponsor for the Indy 500 Qualifying and Bump Day television broadcasts on ESPN2,
beginning Saturday, May 10. To read Danica’s blog, click
