Global Water Resources ("Global") and Comodo, a Leading Certification Authority
announced today the selection of Comodo's EV SSL Certificate to meet its
security demands in its new customer care kiosk and on-line customer self
service application, eCare. Global sought a security solution that delivered the
highest level of authentication, and that was diverse enough to meet its
demanding and regulated business environment. With EV SSL Certificates, Global's
online customers will be able to visually verify that their transactions are
secure and that they are on Global's authenticated site.
These security
certificates are part of the on-line payment and customer care kiosks deployed
into the Global Water Center in the City of Maricopa. Global's new center is the
first green utility building in Pinal County, and the first commercial building
in Arizona to use recycled water in municipal systems. The Center is also the
technology hub for the utility's customer service and award winning outreach
activities. This advanced, yet easy-to-use kiosk solution connects directly and
seamlessly to CIS Infinity®, Global's customer information and utility billing
solution. This seamless integration ensures customers get accurate real-time
support with a few touches of the screen.
Comodo's EV SSL Certificates
employs both encryption for security and identity assurance technology which
turns the site's URL green to enable the visitor to authenticate both the site's
owner and the certification authority that issued it. As online customers demand
visual authentication more and more, EV SSL is a powerful tool to provide Global
customers with the confidence their information is secure.
"This
technology represents a breakthrough for customer service." Praised Leo
Commandeur, Global's CIO, "Global water required online security to protect its
customers as they perform online transactions with the company. The importance
of securing customer information and guaranteeing the security and integrity of
online transactions cannot be underestimated."
